How To Sew A Toy Banana
With it's elegant lines, subtle details and playful nature, the Banana is a delightful piece from our fruit collection providing beautiful aesthetic and hours of open-ended play.
From comforting desserts like banana bread or banana split, to fresh delights like banana nice cream or a chocolate banana smoothie [a favourite in our household], this piece will be a beautiful addition to the play kitchen inspiring children to explore creatively within the process of cooking, baking and making.
The Banana is a heirloom piece designed to be a keepsake item that can be passed down from one generation to the next. We hope that you enjoy this piece as much as we do :)
What You'll Need
This pattern is designed for woven fabrics. We recommend using a light to medium weight [4oz to 7oz] cotton, linen or natural blended fabric. If using a light weight fabric, we suggest a soft light weight interfacing for the banana only [not the peel].
For stuffing toys, we find an organic cotton or wool stuffing to work best. It packs nicely creating a firm toy and, not to mention, is much easier for our children and our planet.
